Course
Format:
You will be held responsible for all materials covered in lectures and all
materials
covered in the reading. Grades will be based on weekly homeworks (40%), a
midterm (20%), and a final (40%). All exams will be timed.
Homeworks will be handed out each Wednesday and due back in class
at the
beginning of class the following Wednesday. They will also be available on
this website.

Policy:
Grade only (pass/fail option not available). Homework
40%, midterm 20%, final 40%.
Collaboration Policy:
Looking at ANY solution other than your own
prior to handing in your homework is
strictly forbidden. I expect you to try to do the problems yourself first.
If
you get
stuck, I don't object to you discussing a problem with another student,
with a
TA,
or with me.
No collaboration on exams.
Homework and Exam Policy:
An answer without appropriate work or clear explanation will be counted as
incorrect.
BOX ALL ANSWERS. Homework is due before class on the day it is due!
(If you can't make it to class on time, turn your homework in early.)
Late homework WILL NOT be accepted.
