Research
Professor
Effros and her group in the Data Compression Laboratory do research
on information compression and communication. This research ranges
from analyses of the optimal performance theoretically achievable
in data storage and transmission to the design of practical algorithms
for the communication of image and video data across noisy channels.
The research combines ideas from communications, signal processing,
probability theory, and information theory.
